Planned and instructed by women, our women's self-defense series aims to empower with applicable self-defense techniques, from wrist grabs to knife threats.
Cost per session: $10 for non-members, $5 for members, free for unlimited members
Cost for entire series: $50 for non-members, $25 for regular members, free for unlimited members
Topics for each session:
2/3 - Posturing, distance, boundaries, general tips. This session is dedicated to practicing how not to look like a victim in the first place, how to make others aware of your boundaries, and how to be more alert in public.
2/10 - Wrists, arm grabs, shoulders. This session is dedicated to anything involving your arms/shoulders.
2/17 - Bear hugs, chokes, hair. This session is dedicated to situations such as hair pulling, bear hugs, and chokeholds (both from the front and from behind).
2/24 - Groundwork. This session is dedicated to protecting yourself if you're taken to the ground.
3/3 - Weapons. This session is dedicated to what to do in the face of a knife or a gun. We’ll also cover how to use common objects as improvised weapons.
3/10 - Practicum. This is a 2-hour session dedicated to practicing everything we’ve learned over the course of the last 6 weeks. Please note that this session will be focused on review and application rather than instruction.
